This project utilizes Epson robotics with an integrated vision system. A high resolution camera sits above the robot with a sort of birds eye view of the parts sitting in the tray. Machine learning is used to recognize the number of parts and the orientation of each part then returns the parts coordinates to the robot to be picked off the tray. When part numbers get too low the feeder (far left) feeds more parts into the tray. The tray is programmed at an optimal frequency to vibrate, effectively separating the parts to be picked easier.

This project showcases a well organized, modular structured machine that my group brought to life. My primary role in this project was to design the user interface while providing some controls programming. This unique machine features a large conveyor system, a laser engraver, a vibratory engraver, heaters, an in depth safety scanning system and a large Fanuc robot. The many moving parts of this machine makes it a spectacle to watch as it runs.
